Originally from Hawaii, Lee Sanpei has played in numerous music settings such as concert and symphonic band, music theater, and marching percussion. He toured the US and Canada extensively with the Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps for five consecutive seasons. Before studying jazz performance at UNLV, he studied with Russ McKinnon (Tower Of Power). Besides playing with various artists including The Dirty Martinis, Lara Ash , Mickey Rooney, Double Wide, The Krush, Joi, Redd, The Tommy Thompson Project, and Marlene Ricci, he also was the marching percussion instructor at the Kamehameha Schools in Hawaii. He can also be seen playing drums in Rush Hour 2, starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. In addition to working with Front Page, Lee is currently performing at the House Of Blues at Mandalay Bay in a history of blues music show called The Blues Schoolhouse. |
